In early June, less than a year before the competition, Mr. David Roach, Event Advisor (SEA) from the IOF, was dispatched to inspect the terrain, maps, course conditions, venue, and other aspects of the overall operation. While there was room for improvement in the sprint course, which was surveyed later, the forest course map was deemed excellent, and although only a prototype course was presented, it was generally considered a good course. Detailed advice was also provided regarding the venue, in accordance with the WMOC manual. There was a strong request to start registration by early July, and the organizing committee, having reached the final stage of signing a memorandum of understanding with the WMG Organizing Committee, is proceeding with preparations for registration to begin in early July. While the Masters competition attracts 3,000 to 4,000 participants when held in Europe, approximately 1,800 participants are expected in Japan.
